postheadericon Encouraging Spouses: The Best Help For Attaining Success In Your MLM

Every morning I start of my computer and visit a number of forums and websites that I regularly read for information and to answer questions. I was in one of the forums today and came across a guy that was complaining about his lack of support from his wife and how it was making it hard for him to keep his business going. As I was talking with the guy, I couldn’t help but think how hard it would be building this home based business without my spouses support.

Getting a home based business up and going is a daunting task in itself, let alone without the support of your spouse. There is going to be plenty of late nights and early mornings in the beginning to get the business off of the ground. Here are the three main reasons why I think people don’t get the support they need from their significant others when striving for MLM success.

First, a lot of people don’t involve their significant others in the home business process from start to finish. The storyline goes like this: person gets excited and joins an MLM, they are told that a web presence is the best way to grow the business, they go to work spending additional hours building their business and spending less time with the family, money doesn’t come in immediately, spouse feels neglected. I might have missed a few steps, but you get the idea. Building a successful business takes commitment from the person involved and an understanding spouse, especially if they won’t be participating.

Second, let’s face it, there is still a somewhat bad light that has been shed on this industry by people who didn’t take the time to learn the business and do it right, or by those who are lifelong pessimists. Your spouse could start off supportive and talk to some friends or family whom have been involved or no someone involved who didn’t have a good experience. The problem with this is that your spouse takes these people at their word and instantly begin doubting what your doing.

The final thing that keeps people from getting full spousal support, and probably the biggest reason, is the investment required. I am not talking about the money up front, but the ongoing money monthly to ensure your business is marketed properly. Also, the whole business landscape is such that people are attracted to it because of the allure of “easy or quick money”. If the spouse doesn’t see money coming in immediately, then they are likely to think that the whole business is a scam.

What are the reasons that you think people don’t get support. I have no idea how hard this business would be without the full support of my spouse, but can assure you that getting to the level of MLM success I want to achieve would be 10 times more difficult.
