The UPSC Civil Services result 2021 was declared late Friday night and a total of 761 candidates cleared the exam, of whom, 545 are male and 216 are female. The best thing about the UPSC results this year is that the top five spots were bagged by women.
One of them is UPSC Rank 5 Mamta Yadav. The 24-year-old has lived her whole life in Delhi’s Basai village, and became the first person from there to go so far ahead with her education and become an IAS officer. Now, she wants to empower more women.
From Rank 556 to Rank 5
This was her second attempt at the UPSC Civil Services. She first appeared for this tough exam in 2020 and secured Rank 556.
On getting selected, she started training for the Indian Railway Personnel Service. But she wasn’t satisfied and wanted to prove her mettle again and go higher.
The second time she sat for the exam, she ended up with a huge jump, right to the top 5.
Mamta Yadav’s father Ashok Yadav, a resident of Basai village, works in a private company and her mother, Saroj Yadav is a housewife.
Mamta has completed her entire education from Delhi itself and graduated from Hindu College of Delhi University.
Parents feel proud
Mamta’s mother Saroj says that she did not expect her daughter to go this far.
Her father Ashok gives the credit of his daughter’s success to Mamta’s mother and said his daughter has made him very proud.
